Calls for Yaphank trap and skeet range to close following weapons arrest — Elected officials and community residents will be calling Monday for the closure of  the Suffolk County trap and skeet range in Yaphank after the operator of the range was charged with selling illegal assault weapons. The protestors — who have been fighting to close the trap and skeet range due to quality of life concerns — are urging Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy to cease the facility’s operations while the investigation is pending.
