Cayuga County Legislature committee holds off on vote for SAFE Act resolution – The Cayuga County Legislature isn’t sure it wants to get involved either way with proposed state legislation to repeal the SAFE Act. Though it wasn’t just the SAFE Act. The county Legislature’s Government Operations Committee had six resolutions on its agenda Tuesday night that expressed opinions to the state government on various issues, none of which passed. As far as the SAFE Act, which toughened the state’s gun ownership laws, some legislators questioned whether the body had anything to add to the debate. “Do we as a group have something to offer on the SAFE Act, other than ‘We don’t like it?'” asked Legislator Joseph Runkle, R-Sennett.
