Edwards Reminds Hunters Of New Law – As hunters in Chautauqua County prepare for the start of the 2011 deer and black bear hunting season, with opening day on Nov. 19 and ending Dec. 11, County Executive Gregory J. Edwards is reminding residents about recent changes to New York state’s hunting regulations. On Aug. 3, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the Rifle Hunting Bill, which allows hunters to use a rifle to hunt deer and bear in the area of Chautauqua County south of Route 20.
