Cooperation with the EPA on lead management practices can provide liability protection in the event of being challenged with a complaint. Make sure your range follows the EPA's Best Management Practices guidelines. Establish a plan and file it with the EPA in their Voluntary Certificate of Recognition Program. Typical plan outlines are described in the BMP guidelines in appendix E. A Microsoft Word document in nearly the right format is provided here. The NRA Range Development Program can offer technical assistance in handling complicated situations. |

Political Action |
|
| Political action occurs at all levels, from local to national. For local issues, clubs are right there. For Statewide issues, clubs can do no better than to connect with New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. We work together with the NRA-ILA to develop political action groups and to track adverse legislation at all levels. New York State Rifle and Pistol Association maintains good relationships with a number of countywide and regional organizations as well, providing an integrated view of political activities. One great way to start a program in your club is to sign up with one of the Mix N' Mingle events. Sign up to participate at the Action Center website. Contact us at NYSRPA to get involved. | |
