Foes open fire on Walmart’s gun sales – In response to news that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. would expand the sale of guns in its stores across the country, local elected officials and community groups called on Mayor Michael Bloomberg—an outspoken voice against gun violence—to oppose the retailer’s push to open its first stores in the city. Walmart, however, does not plan to sell guns and bullets in New York City.
