Kolb and King: Guns = Jobs in NY – Much of the debate over firearms in the Legislature has been over safety, registration thresholds and most recently, whether or not to mandate microstamping, a controversial idea in which each gun would have a signature imprint on cartridges, which could help police match spent cartridges to specific weapons.  Now, however, Assembly Republican Minority Leader Brian Kolb and state Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King are pointing out that gun makers have a longstanding presence in New York and consequently provide jobs.
