Local trap shooters participate in Road Runner event – A dozen five-member trap shooting teams traversed the north country on Saturday as part of the second annual Northern Tier Trap League 200 Bird Road Runner competition. “As far as I know, nobody north of the Thruway has ever done this,” said event organizer Jon Putman, a member of the Carthage Fish & Game Club team. Teams spent the day shooting at four different clubs: Beaver River, Sackets Harbor, Sno Fun and Brownville. An awards ceremony was then held in Sackets Harbor.
