Robert J. Ott Award
The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association annually presents, at it's Board's discretion, the Robert J. Ott Distinguished Service Award to the New York State resident who best exemplifies qualities of sacrifice and service to fellow members of the shooting sports. Such personal contributions must include, but need not be limited to, activities at the club level.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be supported by written nominations which clearly demonstrate the individual's helping nature and history of "giving" more than he/she has "taken" from the sport. Such service may include a leadership role in safety programs, the encouragement of shooting skills and sportsmanship among the youth, involvement in education endeavors and public relations work, or participation in general administrative functions or acts which exhibit a sharing of one's time and abilities for the benefit of other members of the shooting sports. The individual selected as a recipient of the award shall have demonstrated an effective history of such devotion to shooting interests, with at least ten years of active involvement.
The Robert J. Ott Award Committee consists of past presidents of NYSRPA and their active participation is respectfully requested. Please send nominations with supporting documentation for the Ott Award to:
