The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Ceretto to push for SAFE Act repeal – New York State Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-Lewiston, announced support Wednesday in the Assembly’s Codes Committee for legislation that would fully repeal the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013. Tenney urges Assembly panel to allow vote on SAFE Act repeal – The Assembly Democratic majority is being urged by Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney to take up her bill that would repeal Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s gun control law known as the SAFE Act. The bill by Tenney, R-101, New Hartford, was to be considered today by the Assembly Codes Committee, which could then bring the legislation to the floor for a vote. Shooting program takes off in city school – In the bowels of Charlotte High School, around the corner from the boiler room and directly beneath the swimming pool, shots ring out. It is hot, humid and noisy. Four young men are prone and propped up on their backpacks with Olympic-grade Daisy single-shot air rifles pointed down-range. Master Sgt. Shawn Legault paces behind them.
