The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Award-winning ‘Women in Nature’ program set for April 25 at F-M Rod and Gun Club – The Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs has scheduled its 9th annual “Women in Nature” program for April 25 at the Fayetteville-Manlius Rod and Gun Club.  The award-winning program is a free, day-long series of workshops for women focusing on introductory outdoor skills.  This year’s event is featuring 22 different mini-courses. Firearms Dealer to Sue Everytown for Gun Safety For Defamation In Bogus Report – Crossfire Arms, LLC, of Mount Holly, Vermont, says through counsel that it intends to sue Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety for defamation after Everytown suggested that Crossfire Arms was an unlicensed dealer selling firearms to criminals. Everytown had been pushing a fake “study” that asserted criminals were using online firearms sites to illegally acquire firearms as part of the group’s efforts to impose “universal background checks” on residents of the state that sees less violent crime in a year than many large cities mismanaged by anti-gun Democrats see in a summer weekend. The very speculative Everytown report failed to come up with solid evidence that so much as a single firearm was sold to a criminal via person-to-person sales facilitated by online communications. Citing NY’s SAFE Act, Henrietta Guns and Ammo Store Closes – Jackson Guns and Ammo in Henrietta has closed up shop, and owner Kordell Jackson said that New York’s SAFE Act is to blame. “We catered to the assault rifles and once that was out, it kind of hurt us,” Jackson said. Jackson operated out of two locations, Henrietta and Scottsville, for more than 10 years. His stores are now empty. With certain assault weapons now banned in New York state, and a limit on magazine capacity, Jackson says sales dropped from about $250,000 to $15,000 a month. “We were struggling with all the rules and regulations, the New York SAFE Act as well as the New York State payroll taxes, the state taxes, all these taxes,” Jackson said. “You can’t stay in business with all this going on.” Jackson closed up shop Jan. 17.  He says the decision was difficult.  After spending five to six months looking for ways to keep his business viable, Jackson said closing made the most... read more
