The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Feiner to introduce legislation on Greenburgh gun ranges – Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said he will introduce legislation to regulate gun ranges in town after a neighbor of an outdoor gun range on Ardsley Road was hit by what was believed to be a bullet fragment.  The legislation was drafted by Bob Bernstein, a neighborhood activist in Edgemont and Feiner’s opponent in the supervisor’s race last year. NY weighs expanding bear hunting – The New York Department of Environmental Conservation proposed heightened black bear management measures in May as nuisance bear incidents are becoming more frequent in areas of the state.  The black bear population in New York varies in concentration — most of them congregate along the Southern Tier, the Catskills or the Adirondacks.
