Plan to allow rifle hunting stalled in Albany — Assemblyman Daniel Burling is reminding deer hunters that using rifles remains illegal for now in Wyoming County. A proposal to allow rifle hunting in the county has stalled at the state level. The State Assembly approved a resolution in July to allow the practice. But the measure still needs approval from the State Senate and Gov. David Paterson to take effect.
