Police: Homeowner holds intruder at gunpoint till cops arrive – A homeless man was arrested on Halloween after a homeowner found him inside their home and held him at gunpoint, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 3:30 p.m. deputies responded to James Street for a report of an intruder inside a home being held at gunpoint by the owner, deputies say.

When they arrived deputies say they found Christopher Scott, 25, inside a locked closet.  He was taken into custody without incident and charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass in the second.

Scott was arraigned in Rosendale court and sent to Ulster County jail on $2,500 cash bail to return on Nov. 11.
