Rep. Hanna: ‘I’m standing up for gun owners’ – U.S. Representative Richard Hanna (R) stood alongside Broome County gun owners Thursday to give his stance on controversial issues. He offered his opinion on the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 Act, and other legislation that he said is penalizing upstate sportsmen. Hanna spent the afternoon at the Broome County Sportsmen’s Association, where he told members of the club that he and his office are strong supporters of gun rights and the second amendment. The Congressman spoke out against the SAFE Act, and cited how he feels it negatively impacts responsible gun owners. “This overreach by the SAFE Act has affected a lot of people who have owned guns their entire lives,” Hanna said.
