State legislator backs suit to overturn New York gun law – A state legislator has filed a court brief supporting the federal lawsuit aimed at overturning New York’s new gun restrictions.  Sen. Kathy Marchione, a Saratoga Republican, is asking a judge for permission to join the court record supporting the state affiliate of the National Rifle Association, sportsmen’s groups and others.  They say the statute enacted Jan. 15 violates Second Amendment rights.
