Two state assemblymen representing St. Lawrence County pressing for repeal of year-old gun law – Two Assembly members who represent parts of St. Lawrence County continue to call for repeal of New York’s gun control law, The NY SAFE Act.  A recent court ruling struck down part of the SAFE Act, but Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) wants a full repeal, citing what he believes will be the difficulty enforcing the law and what he calls “its encroachment on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”  Assemblyman Marc W. Butler (R,C,I-Newport) has repeated his call for the repeal of the gun control law, while Second Amendment enthusiasts, law enforcement and business owners have told Butler they are calling for an end to the law.
