Ulster panel recommends lawmakers withhold county seal from SAFE Act enforcement effort – Ulster County legislators plan to ask the state not to use the county’s seal when requiring gun owners to renew their pistol permits every five years under the SAFE Act.  The Laws and Rules Committee of the county Legislature voted unanimously Monday evening to oppose the use of the county seal, said committee member Kenneth Ronk.  “This is not for or against the Safe Act,” said Ronk, R-Shawangunk. “This is just about the state overreaching and using county resources, essentially, to do a state function.”
