Call for tougher gun control in wake of CT school killings – “The Second Amendment doesn’t guarantee to right to bear arms to kill innocent teachers and children,” New York State Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti (D-Greenburgh) said following the tragic shootings in Connecticut on Friday. “It allows us to place reasonable restrictions on gun possession to prevent their misuse – and if it doesn’t, we need to change it.”  Abinanti, a former Westchester County legislator and an attorney said the nation is “under siege by those who misuse guns – no man, woman or child in this country is safe. Every level of government must immediately respond to the full extent of their powers, he said.
