Genesee County legislature approves big-game rifle hunts – Hunters cannot use a centerfire rifle during big-game hunting seasons this year in Genesee County, but that may change during the 2015 season. The vote was 7-2 and a crowd of nearly 70 hunters and gun-rights advocates respectfully showed and told of their approval as Genesee County legislators Wednesday evening passed a resolution to allow rifles during big-game hunting seasons in that county. The two dissenting voters showed a high regard for sport hunting and the rights of gun owners but their vote was based on constituent input.
