Last-minute money: NRA, pro-Astorino PAC spend on ads – The National Rifle Association is making a last-minute push in the New York governor’s race — by dropping a little more than $100,000 on Internet advertisements against Gov. Andrew Cuomo. State Board of Elections records show the NRA’s political action committee spent $104,618 earlier this week on the ads, though the filing doesn’t include details about when are where those ads will run. The gun-rights group is a major opponent of Cuomo, in large part because of the series of gun-control laws he ushered through the Legislature in 2013. But until this ad buy, it hadn’t done much to support Astorino financially, donating $5,000 to his campaign on Oct. 23.
