Part of Cuomo’s assault weapons ban questioned by judge – Pro-gun lawyers and a federal appeals court judge questioned one aspect of Gov. Cuomo’s assault weapons ban Tuesday, saying its mandate that gun owners load only seven bullets into magazines with a 10-bullet capacity seems unenforceable. “If you can still buy a 10-round magazine, criminals will still load the 10 rounds,” U.S. Circuit Judge José Cabranes said during oral arguments. But the three-judge panel did not dispute the logic of the overall ban. The case is expected to reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
