Paterson to Grannis: ‘You’re fired’ — Using the catch phrase from the hit TV show The Apprentice, state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Alexander “Pete” Grannis joined the ranks of the unemployed last Thursday, following in the footsteps of hundreds of other DEC employees who, over the course of his tenure, are no longer working at the agency.
