Phil Steck: Count me in for stricter state, federal gun control – It’s not yet his first day on the job, but Assemblyman-elect Phil Steck says he’s fully on board with the push for tougher state and federal gun laws in the wake of this month’s schoolhouse massacre in Newtown, Conn. “There are inconsistencies that allow guns to cross borders and limit the effectiveness of state laws, but if legislation in New York can save even one life or prevent one tragedy, we should act immediately.
