Rifle hunting bill signed by governor

Rifle hunting bill signed by governor – Chautauqua County will join the rest of the counties along the Southern Tier that now permit the use of rifles when hunting deer and bear.  On Thursday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo officially signed legislation that was sponsored by state Sen. Cathy Young, R-Olean, Assemblyman Andrew Goodell, R-Jamestown and Assemblyman Joe Giglio, R-Gowanda. The legislation will apply to areas south of Route 20.
