SAFE Act opponents near milestone in Orleans – Local opponents of the NY SAFE Act say Orleans County is on the precipice of a milestone in the call to arms against the state’s new gun control legislation.  Members of New York Revolution, a statewide group that is seeking a repeal of the SAFE Act, say Orleans County is on track to become the first county in the state to have all local governments lined up in opposition to aspects or all of the legislation.  All but two municipalities in the county have passed resolutions opposing aspects or all of the gun control legislation passed in the wake of the Newtown, Conn. mass shooting. Gia Arnold of Holley, who is the PResident of New York Revolution, said the group hopes to have all 15 county municipalities voicing opposition within the next month.
