Do It: Trapshooters, 17, are world champs – Christopher Vendel began shooting a shotgun at 10 years old. The son of local trapshooting legend Chris Vendel, you might say he’s a chip off the old gunstock.  “My dad started taking me to the local gun club and I had a youth model shotgun I’d use,” Christopher said. “I actually was so little, I couldn’t hold the gun up so my dad would hold the front of it and I’d shoot it that way.”  Justin Slater and Shane Rodas, Vendel’s friends and fellow competitors on the national junior trapshooting circuit, had a similar upbringing surrounded by flying clay pigeons, the smell of gunpowder and family members who took them under their wings.
