Two years later, SAFE Act struggles with ammunition database – The state still doesn’t have a database for background checks on ammunition sales that was part of New York’s controversial gun-control law in 2013, Gannett’s Albany Bureau reported today. State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico testified at a budget hearing yesterday that the database approved as part of the SAFE Act remains a work in progress.
