Ulster County Legislature adopts resolution opposing NY gun-control law – Voting 14-8, Ulster County legislators on Tuesday adopted a resolution calling for the repeal of portions of the New York state gun-control law known as the SAFE Act.  The vote came after more than three hours of public comment that, at times, was punctuated by raucous applause, heckling and boos.  Nearly 1,000 people packed the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Midtown Kingston to speak out about the resolution, which put the Ulster County Legislature on record as opposing the state law.
