Walden mayor says he was deceived by Bloomberg’s anti-gun group – When New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s group “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” asked Walden Village Mayor Brian Maher to add his name to their petition affirming his support for safer communities, he gladly signed on.  But, Maher now says he was duped by the committee, which used his name in anti-gun propaganda, and the Orange County municipal official said when he asked to be removed from the campaign, he said they offered to “buy me off” with support from the mayor.
