Westchester lawmakers consider calling for greater federal gun control – Westchester County legislators have begun to discuss a proposed resolution that would call on the federal government to impose greater gun control measures.  The call comes in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre.  Among the stricture measures proposed are mandated criminal background checks on all gun sales, a renewed ban on all military-style assault weapons, prohibition on the sale of armor-piercing bullets, and a ban on magazines holding more than seven rounds.
