Catskills Confidential: Lawmakers in Sullivan protest SAFE Act gun-control law – The state’s SAFE Act gun-control law may be on the books, but that doesn’t mean the protests against it have let up.  The Sullivan County Legislature, which last year was among several counties that called for its repeal, last week passed another resolution protesting it.  State agencies charged with enforcing the SAFE Act apparently have said they plan to use the seals and insignias of counties on their websites and on recertification notices to pistol-permit holders.  But the Sullivan Legislature, by a vote of 8-0, voted not to allow the county’s seal — a bright sun shining over mountains — to be used.
