Ippolito is a genuine hotshot – She knelt 33 feet from the target with a Daisy air rifle in her hand. A steady pop, pop, pop came from the gun as Marisa Ippolito zoned in on the target, never flinching, always steady while shooting on one knee. And when the John Wayne performance ended at the Middletown Pistol and Rifle Club, Ippolito’s card was filled with bull’s-eyes. Ippolito, 14, entering her sophomore year at Monticello High School, is a certified expert shooter by the National Rifle Association.
