New York State Rifle and Pistol Association

The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Gun festival with picnic flavor – Next to the vendor selling toy “bubble” guns, and across from the woman selling Mary Kay products, was a table filed with real knives. And a short walk from the field filled with inflatable rides, gun dealers set up tables filled with handguns and rifles. Barbecue sizzled, country music blared and fathers carried daughters on their shoulders as a wholesome scene played out Saturday at Hanofee Park. Safe Act spinoff: Local rod and gun clubs see spike in memberships – Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s controversial SAFE Act that passed at the beginning of this year has had one favorable side effect on local rod and gun clubs across Central New York. Memberships are up and the demographics of many of the new shooters may surprise some. State legislator backs suit to overturn New York gun law – A state legislator has filed a court brief supporting the federal lawsuit aimed at overturning New York’s new gun restrictions.  Sen.
