The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Two year rise in shootings prove SAFE Act not working Time for legislators to have an honest discussion about New York gun laws ALBANY, NY (06/08/2015)(readMedia)– The New York Times first reported last week that shootings in New York City have been rising for the past two years. This was followed by the NYPD reporting a 19.5% increase in City homicides during the first five months of the year. Now, according to WABC News Ch. 7, felony assaults on the subway are up 27%. Mets pitcher Dillon Gee says he was tricked into encouraging gun control – A day before being activated from the disabled list, Mets pitcher Dillon Gee was also activated as a promoter of Gun Violence Awareness Day, apparently without his knowledge. To show their support for “Wear Orange,” an initiative of the Everytown for Gun Safety nonprofit co-founded by former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, the Mets took a team photo Tuesday wearing orange shirts.
