The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association is the state’s largest and nation’s oldest firearms advocacy organization. Since 1871, our organization has been dedicated to the preservation of Second Amendment rights, firearm safety, education and training, and the shooting sports. Our membership consists of individuals and clubs throughout the state. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization and the official NRA-affiliated State Association in New York.

Rep. Hanna: ‘I’m standing up for gun owners’ – U.S. Representative Richard Hanna (R) stood alongside Broome County gun owners Thursday to give his stance on controversial issues. He offered his opinion on the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 Act, and other legislation that he said is penalizing upstate sportsmen. Hanna spent the afternoon at the Broome County Sportsmen’s Association, where he told members of the club that he and his office are strong supporters of gun rights and the second amendment. Pistol permit office hours changing

Pistol permit office hours changing – The Niagara County Pistol Permit Office will roll out new hours next month in an attempt to speed up approvals, after County Clerk Wayne F. Jagow noted a spike in pistol permit applications. Effective the first week in June, the office will now be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and closed to the general public on Wednesdays so staff can process paperwork.
